What customers say?

“ A good spot for all chaat lovers. They’ve got a variety of food and beverages on the menu. The place needs to be improved a lot. The sink was too small. The place doesn’t seem to be clean as well. Service was ok. They can definitely do a better job since they’re reputed for chaat. ”

“ Had dinner at The Chaat Indian Street Eats and it was quite the experience! Tried various Indian street foods, and it was a delightful change from the usual dine-in options. The service was prompt and friendly, plus they surprised us with a complimentary dessert, jalebi, which was a sweet touch. However, the only downside was the lack of air conditioning or its malfunction during our visit. It made the ambiance a tad uncomfortable, especially considering the warm weather. On the bright side, parking wasn't an issue; we easily found space along the road. Overall, a memorable dining experience with minor hiccups. ”

“ We went there for a quick snack. The service and the food was perfect. We had Dahi puri, butter naan and butter chicken. The prices are also convenient and worthy for the money we pay. The place is okay, but a little bit hotter during the day since the air conditioners are a but old. Overall the food we had was really tasty and the delivery was quick. ”

“ The only place in Colombo that serves authentic chaat. The cooks are from Rajasthan I was told. The place is clean, quick turn-around, reasonably priced. The masala chai is freshly prepared. No tea bags . The rotis, flat breads, samosas and snacks all taste just like in Indian streets. Tasted mal pua for the first time. A must eat dessert, atleast once a month. Limited parking. No wheel-chair access. Delivery is the best option. ”

“ Walked out of a restaurant fully satisfied after a long time! Couldn't figure out which item to go for since the menu was full of new interesting looking food items. Service was great and food was beyond amazing! Will definitely be returning again. Their Mix Chaat Platter was the best which allowed us to try out 4 different types of puris: (pani puri, dahi puri, sav puri & dahi papadi chaat). Matka Kulfi and gulab jamun were all great too... ”

“ I have been craving for some good Indian street food and came across this place on Instagram and the food wasn't disappointing, it was really good, it tasted like authentic, flavorful and yummy. The place looks a little dirty but the food was good. Price was affordable and service was fast and good. A new fav spot for tasty snacks. ”

“ A North Indian vegetarian restaurant with generic North Indian dishes and street food. Especially chaat which is a favorite street food of north India. Food was of good taste and quality. It was worth the price. It's a nice place to visit and get a quick bite or have a dinner. Seating area is small and service can be improved. ”

“ I visited The Chaat Indian Street Eats in Wellawatte and had pani puri, dahi puri, and a Punjabi samosa. The taste is still just the same even after 3–4 years. It didn’t let me down at all, and this place remains my go-to spot for Indian street food in Sri Lanka. I actually forgot to take a photo and halfway through eating I remembered, but by then the samosa was already gone, since I couldn’t think of anything else except digging in as soon as the food arrived. The only sad part is that they no longer have Rasmalai, which I used to love back then. I really miss it, but overall, the experience was great and I’ll definitely visit again before I head back after my holiday in SL. ”
